Frequently asked questions

  • How do I remove an image background for free?

    Drop the image and choose Remove Background. An on-device AI model separates the subject from the background right in your browser — no upload, no per-image cap, and full resolution is free.

  • Can I convert HEIC to JPG without uploading?

    Yes. Add an iPhone HEIC photo and choose Convert → JPG (or PNG/WebP). The decode and conversion happen locally, so the photo never leaves your device.

  • How do I change an image's DPI to 300 for printing?

    Convert the image to JPEG first if needed, then use the Change DPI operation and enter 300. DPI is print metadata; GhostImage rewrites it without resampling your pixels.

  • Does compressing a PNG lose quality?

    GhostImage uses smart compression that cuts file size substantially while keeping images visually lossless for most photos. You can preview the result before downloading.

  • Can I pull text out of a screenshot?

    Yes. Use the Image → Text (OCR) operation to extract selectable text from a screenshot or photo, entirely in your browser.

  • Is there a limit on how many images I can process?

    No. Because nothing is uploaded, there's no monthly quota or per-image cap — process as many as your device can handle.
