GhostImageStudio

PNG to JPG, no upload.

Drop a PNG and it is re-encoded as a JPG on your device — pick the quality, watch the size, never send it anywhere.

Convert PNG images to JPG in your browser — no upload, no signup, no quality games. PNGs are wonderful for screenshots and graphics but often enormous; converting to JPG typically cuts the size by 5–10×, which is exactly what you need for email attachments, upload forms with size caps, and faster pages. The conversion runs on your device with a quality slider, so you decide the size/quality trade-off and nothing is ever sent anywhere.

How it works

  1. 1

    Drop your PNG

Drag a PNG onto the page. It opens in the GhostImage studio with Convert → JPG pre-selected.

  2. 2

    Set the quality

Pick the JPG quality — higher for photos you'll print, lower for a form upload with a size cap. The preview and size update live, locally.

  3. 3

    Download the JPG

Save the converted image — or keep chaining: resize it, strip its metadata, or compress it further in the same tab.

Frequently asked questions

  • Is my image uploaded?

No. The conversion happens in your browser using the canvas — there's no upload endpoint.

  • What happens to PNG transparency?

JPG doesn't support transparency, so transparent areas are flattened onto a white background. If you need transparency, convert to WebP instead — same tool, different target.

  • How much smaller will the JPG be?

Screenshots and photos typically shrink 5–10×. Flat graphics with few colors may not — those are what PNG is actually good at.

  • Does converting lose quality?

JPG is lossy, so there's some loss — controlled by the quality slider. At 85–90% most photos are visually identical at a fraction of the size.

  • Can I convert many PNGs at once?

Yes — use the Batch tool to convert and compress a whole folder into a zip in one pass.

Every GhostImage tool runs entirely in your browser. Your file is never uploaded — there's no upload endpoint to send it to.
