Frequently asked questions
Can I add custom watermark text?
Yes. Type anything — your initials, 'DRAFT', 'CONFIDENTIAL', a date, a project codename. There's no preset list to choose from.
Can I add an image watermark?
Not yet — text only. Image watermarks are a frequently-requested feature; vote on the feedback issue to bump priority.
Will the watermark go on every page?
Yes. Same text, position, and styling on every page of the input PDF.
Is the watermark removable?
Like all PDF watermarks, it's part of the page content — not encrypted protection. Determined users with the right tools can remove it. Use it as a deterrent, not as security.
Do you see my PDF or my watermark text?
No. Everything runs locally — we have no upload endpoint for GhostPDF.
